Scott Owens to Teach Workshop at Minetta Lane Center for Arts and Peace

Hickory poet, editor, columnist, and college instructor, Scott Owens, will teach a creative writing workshop called “The Greatest Writing Prompt Ever” this summer at the new Minetta Lane Center for Arts and Peace in the Hickory News Building in downtown Hickory (270 Union Square). The dates of the workshop are Thursday 7/21, 7/28, and 8/4 from 6:30 to 8:30.  The cost will be $75.  To register, contact Lindsay Barrick at or 828-455-4648 by July 7.  More information on the Minetta Lane Center is available at

Spring 2011 Issue of “Wild Goose Poetry Review”

Alex Grant Workshop

Award-winning poet, Alex Grant, author of 4 collections of poetry, will teach a workshop titled “Compression and Distillation in Poetry” at Writers’ Night Out on June 14 from 5:00 to 6:00.  Cost is just $10, all of which goes to Grant.
