January 11 Poetry Hickory

Lavonne Adams is trapped in Wilmington with severe car issues and will not be able to attend Poetry Hickory, but Nancy Posey, Caldwell Community College instructor and winner of the 2009 Poet’s Market Chapbook Competition, will still be there as one of our featured writers.  And Ted Pope and Tim Peeler, whose collaborative collection Waiting for Charlie Brown will be out later this year, will pinch hit for Lavonne.

Open Mic readers Shane Manier, Morgan DePue, and Devona Wyant will kick things off at 6:30 at Taste Full Beans Coffeehouse in downtown Hickory.

Writers’ Night Out will precede the reading, starting at 5:00 also at Taste Full Beans.

It should be an eclectic and electric evening.  Call Scott Owens (828) 234-4266 or email asowens1@yahoo.com with any questions.
