Breaking News about November’s Poetry Hickory

Breaking News!

Ifa Bumi can’t make it to Poetry Hickory tomorrow night, so we’re having an expanded Open Mic which will include Hickory favorites, Bud Caywood and Bobbi Ackley; new readers, Richard Carroll and Angie Mull; and special guests Molly Rice, Sue Hardy, and some of their students from St. Stephens High School who have collaborated on the production of “Art Speaks,” a collaborative reading / art show / and book to debut this Saturday at the Hickory Museum of Art.  Look for more news about “Art Speaks” in this Thursday’s edition of the “Outlook” newspaper.

As scheduled, the featured writer of the night will be Charlotte’s Richard Allen Taylor, author of the recently released, “Punching Through the Egg of Space.”

As always, the readings will be preceded by the NC Writers’ Network Foothills Region Writers’ Night Out at 5:00 — everyone interested in writing or meeting other writers is welcome to attend.  And as always, Poetry Hickory is free and open to the public, is sponsored by Main Street Rag, is hosted by Taste Full Beans Coffeehouse in downtown Hickory, and will begin at 6:30.

It should be a fun and interesting evening.  I hope to see you there.
