May Poetry Hickory Reminder and Open Mic Readers

Just a reminder that Tuesday (5/11) will be May’s Poetry Hickory with Neva Bryan of Virginia, author of “St. Peter’s Monsters” and “Sawmill Boys,” and Scott Owens, author of six collections of poetry, including his most recent, “Paternity.”  Poetry Hickory begins at 6:30 with an Open Mic featuring poet Jean Rodenbough, prose writer Charlie Rodenbough, and Hickory’s own Bud Caywood.

Anyone interested in networking with other writers, learning about opportunities related to writing, or getting their work looked at by other writers is welcome to arrive at 5:00 for the NC Writers’ Network Writers’ Night Out.

As always, a big thank you to Taste Full Beans for hosting us and to Main Street Rag for sponsoring us.  On Poetry Hickory nights any purchase of books written by the featured writers merits a free book from the sponsors’ book shelf, which includes a large variety of recent books and copies of the new Main Street Rag magazine (normally $8).
